Anastasia Ashley was born on February 10, 1987 in a surf town of San Clemente, California. She started swimming at age 2, and was body boarding by age three. When she was 5 years old, her family moved to Hawaii where she started to discover how to surf. There had been only a handful of female surfers at that time, so she mainly competed against the guys. She has been surfing in competitions since she was 7 years old and rapidly threw some spray, turned some heads and landed some sweet sponsor deals. Her list of sponsors involve Oakley, Infinity Surfboards, Airwalk and PowerBar. And her plans and objectives for the future? Nothing less than becoming a world champion.
